Drink Better.

Live Better.

We are what we drink.

In the Middle East, the primary source of drinking water is desalinated seawater, which makes up nearly 90% of the supply, with the remainder drawn from limited groundwater reserves. While desalination provides an essential solution to water scarcity, the purification process often involves the addition of disinfectants such as chlorine and other chemicals. As a result, trace amounts of harmful substances — including arsenic, lead, cadmium, fluoride — may find their way into the water that ultimately reaches consumers. The water may additionally contain bacterias and viruses.

Another concern arises from secondary contamination, which can occur through poorly maintained distribution systems, including old pipes and unclean storage tanks. This can further compromise water safety and quality. Beyond health risks, the taste of tap water in the region is generally considered less pleasant compared to natural sources such as spring or alpine water, often carrying a noticeable chlorinated flavor.

Water Pollution in Middle East

Did you know that an estimated 80–90% of people in the GCC rely on bottled or filtered water for drinking?
This overwhelming dependence reflects a lack of confidence in tap water quality and highlights deeper environmental challenges.

Across the region, industrial activities—including large-scale construction, shipping, and oil-based operations—contribute significantly to water pollution, particularly near major ports. Among these, oil spills are regarded as one of the most environmentally damaging aspects of oil production, with long-lasting impacts on marine ecosystems and public health.

To address these challenges, the goal should be clear: Bring pure, high-quality water into our living and working spaces. By doing so, we can protect our health, reduce reliance on bottled water, cut down plastic waste, and ensure healthier, more sustainable communities.

Spring Water from the Tap. At your home.

The best way to protect your and your family’s health is with a constant supply of clean, pure water straight from your tap.

Bottled water is not a viable long-term solution either, as plastic containers release microplastics that can disrupt hormonal balance, affect fertility, and pose long-term health risks.

By drinking 2-3 l of water purified by Zepter water purification systems per day you can improve the overall condition of your body, strengthen your immune system and boost your health.

Both Zepter’s EdelWasser countertop purifier, and the AqueenaEvo, an under-sink filtration system delivering clean water directly from your tap, use a multi stage filtration process including reverse osmosis to remove harmful substances and provide pure, refreshing drinking water that supports long-term health.
